One of our long-term supporters is the Ukrainian community in Dublin. Recently, they held another charity event — Bake Sale for Ukraine — and raised an impressive €12,000, donating a third of it to the Leleka Foundation.
“At these markets, we bring together up to 1,000 people — Irish, Ukrainians, and friends of Ukraine — all united by a shared desire to help. Every participant is a volunteer. Some prepare food, others sell handmade goods, souvenirs, jewelry, books, and more.
These events are 100% charitable: all proceeds collected throughout the day are divided into three parts and donated to organizations we support in Ukraine,” added co-organizer Igor Pashchenko
Since May 2022, this incredible community has organized 11 charitable markets in Ireland. They first donated to Leleka in September 2024, and so far have contributed €13,000 in total — including their most recent transfer from the May 17 event.
This project is all about synergy. Frontline medics need support, and every member of the Ukrainian community in Dublin feels that they’ve made a real contribution to helping Ukraine.
